Itinerary

Day 1

Reykjavik pick up

This morning you’ll be picked up in Reykjavik by your designated driver-guide who will take you on your multiday adventure around Iceland.

Þingvellir National Park

Our first stop on the iconic Golden Circle route is Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2004. As you enter, you'll be greeted by the breathtaking Almannagjá gorge, offering a glimpse into the Earth's geological history. Here, along the European-American fault line, visible evidence of plate tectonics reveals itself, showcasing the ongoing separation of the two continents and the formation of Iceland, the world's youngest country.

Geysir Geothermal Area

Continuing our journey, we arrive at Geysir, lending its name to the phenomenon of spouting hot springs. Prepare to be mesmerized by the mighty Strokkur geyser, which erupts with remarkable regularity, offering an awe-inspiring display every few minutes. Surrounding Strokkur are an array of geothermal features, including fumaroles, mud pools, and smaller geysers, along with the impressive but dormant Geysir itself.

Gullfoss Waterfalls

Our journey through the Golden Circle leads us to Gullfoss, Iceland's breathtaking Golden Waterfall. Here, the Langjökull glacier's meltwater crashes into the Hvítá river gorge, creating a dramatic display of power and beauty. With its distinct curves and golden hues, Gullfoss mesmerizes visitors, leaving them in awe of nature's grandeur. Feel the spray on your face and hear the roar of the water as rainbows dance in the mist. Gullfoss is a testament to Iceland's raw beauty and a reminder of nature's strength.

Day 2

Today you'll continue your journey along Iceland's South Coast, uncovering more of the region's captivating landscapes and attractions. Whether you opt to explore charming coastal villages, dramatic sea cliffs, or hidden waterfalls, the South Coast beckons with endless opportunities for adventure and discovery.

Seljalandsfoss Waterfall

Begin your day at one of Iceland’s most beloved waterfalls, Seljalandsfoss. Experience the thrill of walking behind the thundering cascade, but exercise caution as the trails can be narrow and slippery, especially in winter. Marvel at the illuminated beauty of the falls, enchanting visitors year-round with its magical allure.

Skógafoss Waterfall

Next, behold the majesty of Skógafoss, one of Iceland's largest waterfalls, fed by the glaciers of Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull. Witness mesmerizing rainbows on sunny days and feel the spray as you get up close to this natural wonder. Explore the Skógafoss area, a starting point for adventurous hikers heading to Fimmvörðuháls and Þórsmörk.

Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach

Continue your journey with a visit to Iceland's volcanic black sand beaches of the south. Revel in panoramic views, with the Atlantic Ocean crashing against the shore on one side and glaciers and volcanoes dominating the horizon on the other. Experience the dramatic contrasts of Iceland's landscape as you soak in the raw beauty of its southern coast.

Day 3

Start your day with a scenic drive along the Ring Road (Route 1), extending your exploration of Iceland's natural wonders.

National parks

Upon arrival at Skaftafell Nature Reserve, nestled within Vatnajökull National Park, take a moment to stretch your legs and embark on a refreshing hike along one of the reserve's picturesque trails, enveloped by breathtaking glaciers and cascading waterfalls, including the famous Svartifoss.

Glacier Lagoon & Diamond Beach

Continue your journey to the iconic Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, where colossal icebergs calve from the Breiðamerkurjökull Glacier, gracefully drifting on the turquoise waters. Following your exploration of Jökulsárlón, venture to the nearby Diamond Beach, where radiant icebergs adorn the black sand shoreline, evoking a sense of magic and wonder. Take a leisurely stroll along the coast, marveling at the glistening ice sculptures scattered along the beachfront.

Conclude your day with a visit to the enchanting Fjallsárlón Glacier Lagoon, a hidden gem nestled nearby. Absorb the tranquil beauty of the glacier lake, surrounded by towering mountains and shimmering icebergs.

Optional Glacier Hike

As the day draws to a close, treat yourself to the awe-inspiring beauty of Icelandic glaciers. You can embark on a captivating and easy glacier walk, led by certified and experienced glacier guides.
