So being awarded Travelife Partner recognition means a great deal to us: it's independent confirmation that the way we already work stands up to international scrutiny.
Caring for the Places We Take People
The Iceland people come to see is fragile. That shapes every decision we make:
We plan routes and time our visits to ease pressure on sensitive sites, and keep group sizes right for the landscape.
We adapt to Iceland's weather and seasons rather than forcing a program through, and if a place needs protecting, we adjust, immediately.
We work with long-standing local partners, family businesses and Icelandic producers who share these values.
We follow the leave-no-trace principle: what we bring in, we bring back out. Single-use plastics are avoided wherever possible.
Where groups want to give back, we offer tree planting with the Iceland Carbon Fund and beach clean-ups along adopted stretches of coast.
It's about making better decisions at every step, not adding a "green layer" on top.
The Formal Detail: What Travelife Partner Recognition Means
Our company has achieved Travelife Partner recognition.
Travelife Partner is the entry recognition level within the international Travelife sustainability programme for tour operators and travel agents. This recognition confirms our commitment to further improving the sustainability of our business operations through a structured sustainability management system and the implementation of recognised sustainability practices.
Travelife Partner recognition is awarded following an independent assessment based on the Travelife Partner criteria. During this assessment, our sustainability policy, objectives, management system, implementation of key sustainability practices and supporting documentation are evaluated against 60 mandatory sustainability criteria.
To maintain this recognition, our company is independently reassessed every two years to verify that we continue to comply with the Travelife Partner criteria.
Travelife Partner also provides the basis for progressing to the highest recognition level: Travelife Certified, awarded following a comprehensive independent on-site audit against more than 200 mandatory sustainability criteria.
