Join an exciting amphibian-boat trip on the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. During this excursion you will sail among huge icebergs, have a chance to taste 1000 year-old ice and, if you are lucky, maybe even see some seals. The boat ride takes about 30–40 minutes and includes an English speaking guide who will explain about the geology of the lagoon. There are multiple departures during the day, your personal travel consultant will choose the best fitting time according to your schedule.

Please note

  • Your personal travel consultant will choose the most reasonable departure time for your particular itinerary during the booking process.

  • The old harbour is located in the Reykjavík city centre. 

  • Please note, this tour is not recommended for those that have experienced sea sickness

  • Please bring warm clothing, including hat, gloves and scarf.

  • From Reykjavík, the tour covers just the southern part of Faxafloi Bay.

  • Snacks and beverages are available on board at additional cost.

  • Please note that for safety reasons, the tour operator reserves the right to cancel the tour with short notice if weather conditions are unfavorable. In such cases you will be contacted at your hotel. The success rate of whale sightings is usually high. In the unlikely event that no whales are seen, you will be offered another tour for free.

  • The weather and thus sea conditions can be challenging during our winter months, the vessels are therefore sometimes moved to harbours of more sheltered areas situated around the Reykjanes Peninsula (transfer to those harbours included). When the vessels are moved the trip can take up to 5 hours.
